Pooh Shiesty is moving forward with new music despite remaining in federal custody, announcing that his debut studio album, All Eyes on Shiest, will arrive on Friday, August 7. The Memphis rapper also released the project’s lead single, “Last Man Breathin,” alongside a trailer introducing the album’s rollout.
According to Complex, the upcoming project will be released through Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records, an unexpected development given the serious legal dispute currently surrounding the two rappers. Shiesty is accused of participating in the alleged kidnapping and armed robbery of Gucci during a January meeting at a Dallas recording studio.
Prosecutors allege that the meeting was arranged to discuss Shiesty’s recording contract before escalating into an armed confrontation. Court filings claim Gucci was forced to sign paperwork releasing Shiesty from the label while approximately $450,000 in jewelry, cash and other personal property was taken. Shiesty and eight other defendants have been indicted in connection with the incident.
The decision to release All Eyes on Shiest through 1017 suggests that Shiesty’s existing contractual relationship with the label remains active despite the alleged attempt to secure his release. Gucci appeared to reference that detail earlier this year on “Crash Dummy,” rapping about someone still being signed to him after an alleged setup.
“Last Man Breathin” gives fans the first preview of the album and keeps Shiesty’s music career moving while his legal future remains unresolved. The release follows the continued popularity of records such as “Back in Blood” and “FDO,” which helped establish him as one of the most recognizable voices to emerge from Memphis rap in recent years.
A judge recently denied Shiesty’s request for pretrial release, meaning he is expected to remain in custody until his federal trial begins on February 22, 2027. His legal team has said it will now focus on preparing for trial, while All Eyes on Shiest is positioned to bring renewed attention to his music amid one of the most complicated periods of his career.
