Versatile London rapper and singer Franklin Freshman is set to drop his latest single City On The Map on 6th March 2026, delivering a high-energy dose of feel-good Hiphop/Rap with a modern Trap edge.
Crafted as a celebration of representing your roots and striving for success, City On The Map pulses with emotion and positivity. Franklin Freshman aimed to create a track that lifts listeners every time it plays, blending motivational vibes with a message of grinding hard, stacking money, saving wisely, and putting your city firmly in the spotlight.
With City On The Map, Franklin Freshman steps into a slick, forward-thinking soundscape and delivers a striking hip-hop record that feels both polished and invigorating. The track thrives on its infectious momentum, driven by a confident cadence and a sharp ear for rhythm that keeps every moment engaging. His performance carries a natural charisma, gliding across the instrumental with precision while maintaining a sense of individuality that sets him apart. There’s an undeniable uplift in the overall tone, creating an atmosphere that feels aspirational without losing its edge, making it easy to return to again and again. What truly elevates the release is his seamless ability to fuse modern influences with his own artistic identity, resulting in a standout offering that positions him as a dynamic and evolving force within the UK rap scene.
The creation process was a creative sprint for the artist, who usually leans towards boom bap sounds but challenged himself to embrace a contemporary Trap production. The beat came together in just 15 minutes, followed by 45 minutes of laying down vocals in a London studio, with mixing and mastering completed later. While the recording flew by in an hour, the writing took several weeks as Franklin Freshman honed the perfect sound. He penned the verses in a melodic rap-singing style but opted to deliver them straight as rap on the final take, reserving the melodic rap-singing for the chorus to keep the energy soaring.
No collaborators joined the project, this one is pure Franklin Freshman, showcasing his ability to flex into modern territories while staying true to his distinctive style.
Franklin Freshman hopes fans will catch the feel-good energy radiating from City On The Map and simply enjoy the ride.
The release follows his 2019 album Seeking The Knighthood, which included the single Wifey 4 Lifey, and a string of impactful singles such as Nothin But Bars, Stop and Search, Crush Mics, Stand Up, The First Date and Analysis Of The Ghetto. Drawing inspiration from legends including The Fugees, 50 Cent, Dizzee Rascal and Eminem, Franklin Freshman brings his fresh perspective to everything from fun vibe tracks and love songs to conscious reflections.
Known for his unique touch and energetic performances across London’s open mic circuit, including supporting Aquablakk in Chesterfield, Franklin Freshman continues to build his reputation as an artist who makes music for people to connect with, whether they’re vibing, reflecting or getting motivated.
