Lasani Renee is an artist who has been surrounded by music her whole life. Growing up in the Inland Empire, she was immersed in sound from an early age, whether it was singing in choirs, performing in jazz ensembles, or watching her dad play in a reggae band. For her, music was never just a hobby, it was always part of her identity. About three years ago, she decided to step into the industry professionally, turning her lifelong passion into something bigger.
Her inspiration to take music seriously came during high school, when she saw Billie Eilish rising to fame. “That was the first time I realized I could do this too,” she says. “She was my age and making things happen.” That realization lit a fire in her, showing her that chasing a music career was not just a dream, it was possible.
Lasani’s sound is bold and genre bending, blending the energy of alternative rock with the bounce of rap. She is currently learning guitar to add more depth to her artistry, building on her natural ability to fuse styles in unexpected ways. Her biggest influences reflect this mix as she draws from the heavy edge of Alice in Chains, Acid Bath, Deftones, and Crowbar, while also being inspired by trap innovators like Travis Scott and Playboi Carti. It is the perfect fusion of metal and trap, creating something uniquely her own.
Her journey in the Los Angeles music scene has been just as inspiring as her sound. Being in LA has given her the chance to meet and cross paths with the very people and places she grew up watching on TV. “It is really an experience to be around the community I used to only see from afar,” she shares. That perspective has shaped her growth, giving her both motivation and a sense of belonging in the industry.
One of her proudest milestones so far was landing her first billboard. “That was definitely exciting,” she recalls, a moment that solidified that her music is reaching people beyond her immediate circle. While she has not released an album or EP yet, she has one in the works and several projects lined up. Fans will not have to wait long either, as her next single is set to drop in the next few weeks.
Lasani Renee is still just getting started, but she is already proving she has the vision and drive to carve out her own lane. With her ability to merge raw energy and emotion into music that stands out, she is positioning herself as one of the most intriguing new voices to watch.
