Straight out of East Baltimore’s Zone 6, Sean Cummings is carving his own lane in hip-hop with a sound rooted in authenticity and originality. The rapper, who goes by the handle @gogfromday1 on Instagram, has been deeply connected to music since childhood—learning instruments early on and soaking in the energy of artists like Gucci Mane, OJ Da Juiceman, Jeezy, Yo Gotti, Rick Ross, and 2 Chainz. But just as important, he draws heavy inspiration from Baltimore legends such as Lor Scoota and G Rock, who paved the way for the city’s rising talent.
For Cummings, originality is everything. “The scheme of my music comes with that old-school originality the world’s been looking for,” he says. “Hooks, verses, and concepts—not the repetitive, copycat sound that’s everywhere now. I’ve heard some dope samples, but in my opinion, originality beats all.”
One of his standout lyrics, “Batman shawdy come and save the dayyy!” reflects his mission: to restore faith in hip-hop culture and deliver music that’s both impactful and influential. “I’m saving hip-hop,” he declares. “This music is going to be highly influential. Since making music, I’ve gained so much more respect for the craft.”
Cummings is ambitious about where he wants to take his career. He’s already envisioning a 5-track EP run with some of the industry’s heaviest hitters—Zaytoven, DJ Khaled, Metro Boomin, Cheecho, Weezy Outta Here, and more—collaborating on tracks with artists he grew up watching.
Most recently, Sean Cummings released his “Back To Back” EP on August 16, 2025. The project kicks off with “Perfect Timing,” a track that embodies the raw Baltimore energy he grew up on. The rest of the EP highlights his versatility, with songs like “Navigation” offering producers and fans a glimpse into the depth of his artistry.
With his originality, respect for hip-hop’s roots, and dedication to bringing Baltimore’s voice to the forefront, Sean Cummings is an artist to keep on your radar.
