MIAMI, FL – Fresh off being honored at the 2025 BMI Pop Awards for his work on Lil Durk and J. Cole’s Grammy-winning hit “All My Life,” LunchMoney Lewis is back with a deeply intimate offering titled “Buttercup.” The new single, which features production from acclaimed hitmaker Nathan “Happy” Perez, marks the first official release from Lewis’ forthcoming full-length album, ‘Kosh.’
Blending rich R&B textures with heartfelt lyricism, “Buttercup” is a sensual, feel-good track that paints a vivid picture of love, appreciation, and long-term connection. Lewis describes it as “an expression of what it feels like coming home to a woman you love and making her feel appreciated.” Drawing inspiration from “seasoned Black couples who are still dancing, still loving, and still working to be there for each other,” the song reflects a maturity and vulnerability rarely captured in modern music.
‘Kosh,’ named after Lewis’s own middle name, is set to be his most personal project to date. “A lot of this new album blends my personal experiences and the persona I created to narrate the story of an everyday man being vulnerable with his emotions,” Lewis shares.
Born Gamal Kosh Lewis, LunchMoney Lewis has long been a powerhouse behind the scenes of the music industry. He first catapulted to fame with his 2015 smash hit “Bills,” and has since built a respected resume that includes songwriting and production credits for Nicki Minaj, Jessie J, Fifth Harmony, Doja Cat, Meghan Trainor, and more. His musical versatility is rooted in his Jamaican heritage, with his DJ sets across Miami often celebrating the vibrant sounds of Reggae, Afrobeat, and Kompas.
In 2024, Lewis earned his first Grammy Award for co-writing “All My Life,” adding to his growing list of industry accolades. He is also the founder and CEO of Big Chune Publishing and continues to release music under his own label, Lunchbox Records.
To further build excitement for ‘Kosh,’ Lewis recently dropped a teaser track titled “Dear Songwriter,” a candid and reflective record paired with a raw visual on YouTube. The bonus cut, “ANR Nias,”** also showcases his wit and sharp commentary on the often-unseen pressures of being a writer in today’s music business.
With “Buttercup,” LunchMoney Lewis solidifies his place as a multitalented creator unafraid to blend humor, soul, and honesty. As fans await the full release of ‘Kosh,’ this new single is a glowing reminder of the emotional resonance and storytelling power he brings to every record.
