2Cole Lumpkin and Zach Denike Are Breaking Hearts and Making Waves with “Damage Control”

Cole Lumpkin and Zach Denike are the duo you didn’t know you needed, but won’t be able to stop listening to. Their latest track, “Damage Control”, drops December 11th, and it’s already shaping up to be the anthem for anyone who’s ever questioned trust, love, and late-night texts that don’t add up.

Both Cole and Zach have been grinding in the music industry for nearly a decade, starting at the legendary Premier Studios in NYC and building resumes that include working with icons like John Legend, The Goo Goo Dolls, and Matchbox 20. Now, they’re stepping out of the background and into the spotlight with a sound that feels like therapy and adrenaline rolled into one.

“Damage Control” started as a freestyle with an acoustic guitar during a video shoot the day after the 4th of July. Cole took that raw moment and built it into a layered masterpiece, adding percussion, flamenco-inspired guitars, and even a cheek-flick bubble noise that dances around the second verse. The lyrics hit hard—lines like “She got a table at 1OAK but the girls are a no-show” paint vivid pictures of trust unraveling and love slipping through the cracks. The track feels like scrolling through old texts and second-guessing every word.

For Cole, the song captures the chaos of dealing with someone who’s mastered the art of spinning the truth. Zach calls it a reminder to hold on to yourself when everything else feels like it’s falling apart. It’s heartbreak wrapped in slick production, and it hits in all the right places.

Despite their growing success, Cole and Zach are still all about the process—whether they’re recording in a penthouse studio or a car with a $200 mic. Their chemistry is effortless, a natural bond that comes from years of friendship and a shared obsession with creating music that actually matters.

Both artists are dropping debut albums soon and are ready to hit the road to bring these songs to life. They’ve already hit major milestones—Cole charting in Sweden and Zach selling out shows in NYC, LA, and Boston—but they’re just getting started. When asked about dream collaborations, Cole names John Mayer, Jon Bellion, and Esperanza Spalding, while Zach throws out Justin Bieber, Adam Levine, and Drake. Big goals, but with their talent, it’s only a matter of time.

“Damage Control” is more than just another song—it’s a statement. It’s about piecing yourself back together after someone leaves you questioning everything. And with lyrics that cut deep and production that doesn’t miss, it’s clear Cole and Zach are ready to take over playlists and stages worldwide.
