What’s your artist name and where are you from?
My artist name is Modifyd and I am from Hampton, VA currently residing in Austin, Texas.
Why do you love music?
Music is one thing that brings everyone together. From your toughest days to your brightest, there is some form of music that takes us through those days. The avenue of sound is what makes life for me. In my mind, everything moves to a beat. So every waking day I want to create no matter my mood. Music is a passion in my life. There is not one genre I am more of a fan of than another.
What makes you different as a music artist?
Music seems to differ from generation to generation, but great music is timeless. Being part of an era where music will still be playing a decade from now has carried over into my music. Fusing soul, funk, jazz, and elevated samples make me as an artist and producer bump through today’s same-sounding approach to whatever people think is hot. I do what feels good. If I had to sum up the sound of Modifyd it would have to be a mix between, Jay Z, Kanye, Busta Rymes, and Malice from the Clipse.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
The future is a wide direction of creating a successful label of brands and opportunities for another talented artist with ideas entertainment and building life goals. My true vision is to be in the top spots on Billboard with other emerging artists from my team right up there with me. Being an industry leader a producer, artist, and entertainer in this field.
What do you want to accomplish in life?
Being the best I can at touching people through song. One big accomplishment is owning a label that is dedicated to making large-scale movie soundtrack material. No matter the genre. Having a single or more break top 100 on all music charts as well as albums. After all that, I would lke to be a mentor to those up and coming artist and producers trying to make this their career.
What do you bring to the music world?
A breath of fresh air. I bring a unique but familiar direction due to the blend of sounds from the soul. I come from a generation of musical geniuses and I have been told my music has direction for them. I have produced for multiple genres in the music industry which makes me a very versatile producer and artist. As an artist I am a carrier of influence. My sound and messages I release is a direct impact to my listeners in a powerful way.
What do you want to be remembered by?
That no matter your situation, there is nothing a great song won’t get you through. From classics to street hits, you should be able to find something from me that should stay on your playlist. Remember Modifyd as the influence of your hearts, minds and next generation.
