Yvngpine Is Building His Sound and His Legacy

Yvngpine Is Building His Sound and His Legacy

From Reno, Nevada, rising artist yvngpine has been carving out his place in music since early 2022. Music has always been a part of his life. He grew up playing instruments, but it wasn’t until the stillness of the COVID lockdowns that he found himself leaning into it as more than just a hobby. Spending hours studying cadences and drawing inspiration from generations of musicians before him, he decided to carry that torch forward in his own way.

“I’ve been playing instruments my whole life, but during COVID it really helped pass the time at home. With help from many influences and hours of studying, I just said fuck it and decided to make music,” he explains. That decision would mark the start of his journey as yvngpine, a name that is now becoming more familiar to fans of hip hop, trap, emo rap, and everything in between.

A True Musician at Heart

What makes yvngpine stand out is not just his ear for music, it is his versatility as a musician. He can play the cello, violin, viola, bass both electric and stand up, and can even pick up a guitar or piano and play a little something. That foundation gives him a unique perspective in hip hop and rap, blending traditional musicianship with modern sounds.

His influences reflect his wide ranging taste: from legends like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Biggie, and Eminem to alternative icons like Linkin Park, Alice in Chains, and Tool, all the way to modern trailblazers like Lil Peep, Juice WRLD, XXXTentacion, Bones, Ski Mask, Tyler the Creator, and Kendrick Lamar. That melting pot of inspiration seeps into his music, making every track unpredictable but authentic.

The Grind and the Growth

Like many independent artists, the beginning was not easy. In 2023 and 2024, yvngpine dropped six EPs. Instead of polished studio work, they were raw, recorded in his car on Apple headphones, poorly mixed, and featuring rough vocals. Looking back, he calls them “shitty,” but they were part of the grind. While he has since pulled those projects from streaming platforms, he left them up on YouTube, waiting to be discovered later as hidden gems.

More recently, he has been focused on creating his first real thought out project, an album that reflects his growth as an artist. On top of that, he and his friend Nick! have already built a buzz with their two collaborative EPs, Codeine and Cream $oda. The chemistry was undeniable, and the duo is planning to release a third installment to complete the series.

One of the most memorable milestones in his journey so far came when C&C$ dropped and helped him reach 2000 monthly listeners. “That was huge for me,” he says. “It showed me people were actually listening.”

What’s Next

Right now, yvngpine is gearing up for a big release. He has a new song dropping this weekend, serving as the lead single for his upcoming album. It was originally supposed to drop on Thursday, but a sample clearance delay pushed it back to Saturday. He laughs about the hiccup but takes it in stride, knowing every step is part of the process.

For him, the goal is simple: to keep creating, keep releasing, and always have music to share with the world. “I plan on releasing a lot of music so I can always have material to pull from,” he says. That consistency, combined with his natural talent and deep rooted passion for music, makes it clear that yvngpine is just getting started.
