A limited-run streaming channel will pair Wu-Tang music with interviews and a live audience conversation.
Wu-Tang Clan will take over a dedicated SiriusXM channel from November 4 through December 1, bringing the group’s recordings and individual projects together on the service’s app. The pop-up is presented by LL COOL J’s Rock The Bells Radio.
The SiriusXM announcement says the programming will include group anthems, album cuts, solo music, live performances and interviews. It also promises stories behind the music and special programming made for the service.
Listeners can find a related spotlight on Rock The Bells Radio, channel 43, each Wednesday in November. Those Wu-Wednesdays will draw on the collective’s catalog along with commentary and reflections, according to SiriusXM.
The schedule includes a Front Row Q&A on November 12 at SiriusXM’s Los Angeles studios. Peter Rosenberg will host the conversation with members of the group before a live audience.
The full discussion is scheduled to air at 6 p.m. ET on November 13 on both Rock The Bells Radio and the Wu-Tang Clan Channel. SiriusXM says it will also be available on demand afterward in its app.
The channel arrives as the group prepares for another high-profile appearance: a Thanksgiving halftime performance in Detroit. SiriusXM says the November programming also coincides with Wu-Tang Clan Day in New York City, which marks the anniversary of the group’s 1993 debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).
