Ten awards combine tuition support with a Tyla concert experience, but the application window may close before October 30.

Tyla and Epic Records are supporting 10 music and arts students through the That Girl Music Scholarship, administered by the Institute of International Education. The active program combines tuition assistance with a concert experience in the United States and South Africa.

Each recipient receives a one-time US$5,000 award for required tuition and mandatory fees, with payment made directly to the educational institution. The package also includes two Tyla concert tickets and an opportunity to meet the singer; it is not intended to cover the student’s entire education.

The deadline has an important qualification: IIE says applications are due October 30 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific, or when 50 eligible responses have been received. Students should not assume the form will remain available until that date, and the 50-response threshold is separate from the 10 scholarships being awarded.

Eligibility includes full-time music or arts-related undergraduate study, a minimum 3.0 GPA and being at least 18 by the deadline. U.S. applicants must study in or near New York, Washington, Atlanta, Tampa, Houston or Los Angeles and submit financial-aid information; South African criteria also include qualifying Grade 12 students entering university in 2027.

The official application instructions request a personal statement, tuition estimate, academic record and a self-introduction video of no more than 30 seconds. Materials must reflect the applicant’s own work, and IIE expressly prohibits AI-generated application content.

Applicants are due to receive a decision by the end of November, while selected students must verify full-time enrollment before receiving funds. The complete eligibility criteria and award details explain the different academic-year requirements in the two countries.
