Disney has released a new album called The Lion King: The Gift. Executive-produced by Beyonce, The soundtrack marks the pop star’s first official release since her live album Homecoming. It was prefaced by the single “Spirit,” which appears in the Disney remake of the same name.
The project featured contributions from Childish Gambino/Donald Glover, Elton John, Hans Zimmer, Chiwetel Ejiofor and more; highlights included Donald Glover and Beyoncé‘s modern interpretation of the original Lion King soundtrack’s hit single “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.” Adding to the musical universe surrounding The Lion King, Beyonce releases her own Lion King studio album, The Lion King: The Gift.
The project, Lion King: The Gift, is comprised of 14 all-new original tracks, with guest appearances by Kendrick Lamar, Saint JHN, Pharrell, JAY-Z, Childish Gambino, 070 Shake, Tierra Whack, Burna Boy, Jessie Reyez, Wiz Kid and more. Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter is also featured on the album, with credits on “Brown Skin Girl.”
