Sky Ferreira released her new single “Downhill Lullaby” off her forthcoming album “Masochism” on Thursday 28 March 2019.
The song begins with a heavy instrumental opening and slowly brings in Ferreira’s deep voice. The lyrics tell the story of a physically abused woman who is faced with a partner who tries to balance out his violence with sporadic kindness.
“Downhill Lullaby” was produced by Ferreira alongside Twin Peaks music supervisor Dean Hurley and Jorge Elbrecht.
The single serves as the singer’s first work in six years and is expected to appear on her upcoming album Masochism, which is due for release later this year.
