Rick Ross has taken his long-running feud with 50 Cent into deeply personal territory again, invoking Daphne Joy after Fif mocked the cancellation of Ross’ final two anniversary tour dates.
Complex reports that Rick Ross trolled 50 Cent and Daphne Joy in an Instagram post shared Saturday, August 29. Ross posted a photo of 50 and Joy, the mother of 50’s son Sire, together on a beach while directing a sexually charged taunt at his longtime rival.
Ross’ post suggested that 50 had been watching alleged explicit footage involving Joy and said it had him “excited.” The remark represented another sharp escalation in a rivalry that has repeatedly moved beyond music and business into attacks involving people close to both rappers.
The latest exchange followed the cancellation of the final two dates on Ross’ Port of Miami 20th anniversary tour. The August 28 show at the Steven Tanger Center in Greensboro and the August 29 date at Charlotte’s Belk Theater were called off, with ticket holders set to receive refunds.
50 Cent quickly used the canceled shows as ammunition, joking on Instagram that Ross could respond by introducing a new flavor of wings. He also mocked Ross’ association with Luc Belaire, adding another business-related dig to a feud that has recently touched everything from touring and album sales to sneakers and recording contracts.
The renewed tension had already been building before the tour cancellations. During a recent Apple Music Rap Life Review appearance, 50 argued that rappers should not expect to remain the hottest artists in the genre at 60, prompting Ross to push back publicly and insist that beloved artists can continue releasing music well into old age.
Ross also questioned 50’s recording deal in a separate response, while the two have traded insults this month over Ross’ album performance and 50’s G-Unit x Reebok G6 sneaker. The pair’s current social-media battle is the latest chapter in a feud dating back to 2009, when Ross’ “Mafia Music” helped ignite a conflict that soon produced 50’s “Officer Ricky” response.
Nearly two decades later, neither side appears interested in letting the rivalry disappear for long. The latest Daphne Joy reference shows how quickly a fresh jab over business or music can send Rick Ross and 50 Cent back into the personal attacks that have defined some of their most bitter exchanges.
