Jayvaughn Benson, known to his fans as Pharroh Afternoon, is a talented artist in Chicago, Illinois. Pharroh Afternoon got his start in music in his parents’ basement. His sister inspired him at just eight years old and fell in love with the craft. Pharroh Afternoon has been on the grind since the beginning. Including doing local shows, talking to DJs, doing school visits, doing pop-up shows, free concerts, and handing out CDs. Things haven’t always been easy for Pharroh’s Afternoon as he had to overcome his fear of failure.
In the sixth grade, he experienced failure, and it showed him he would have to face every situation head-on and overcome all odds to make his dreams come true. Those challenges did not come without success. Pharroh Afternoon’s greatest achievement has been performing on the same stage as Chance the Rapper. This was a career-defining moment, and it has only been up since then.
Pharroh Afternoon has had a lot of inspiration throughout his career, including himself and his family. Being a true student of hip hop, one of his early inspirations was Jay Z. Pharroh Afternoon appreciated the way he mastered flows and could tell stories with music which inspired him to do that in his music.
Pharroh Afternoon is currently working on multiple projects and is anticipating the release of his album “Turnt To Rockstar P ” which will be released June 21, 2022. He also has a single coming out on May 27th titled “Another Day,” which is a heartbreak song that ends by giving the listener hope.
