Marc E Bassy Love Her Too Ft G-Eazy
Bay Area representatives Marc E. Bassy and G-Eazy connect once again to demonstrate their chemistry on wax. “Love Her Too” opens with a boom-bap drum sequence and a simple, but infectious melody, where Bassy pays homage to his San Francisco roots, singing, “I be on that cliché, looking for a three-way/ Grew up on rappers from the East Bay.”
“‘Love Her Too’ was that end of the session jam that turned into a real song,” Bassy told Complex. “It was me waking the guys up and convincing them this last jam of the day was something special!”
This latest cut is off Bassy’s upcoming EP, Postmodern Depression, which drops Friday (Oct. 5). “Postmodern Depression is me battling with culture,” he adds. “It’s about trying to grow up in a scene that glorifies the opposite of what it is to be a wholesome individual. It’s about me always coming back to music and being forever saved by songwriting.”
While Bassy has plans to release his sophomore album sometime in 2019, G-Eazy is also keeping busy, as he recently released his “Endless Summer Freestyle,” which features yet another Cali artist, YG.
