Movie Monroe has returned with EP ‘A Light Through The Clouds’. Bringing together some of his recent single releases in a new setting, fans will hear the natural connections between each of the four tracks across the project. Produced, written, mixed & mastered by the artist, the talent on show is seriously impressive.
Clean soul samples from the likes of Curtis Mayfield on opener ‘Ms. Michelangelo’ and Gil Scott-Heron on the title track are fleshed out with rattly, dynamic hi-hats and sleek 808s. Monroe’s smooth vocals and steady pacing entice you into a laid-back but expressive atmosphere that leads perfectly into the smooth energy of the third track ‘From the Ground up (Remix)’. The final outing of the EP is ‘We Share the Same Eyes’.
Taking on a slightly different direction with a more acoustic guitar-driven sound and emotional vocal performance, it features choirs ringing out into the soundscape whilst arpeggiated chords flow into each other.
