Megan Thee Stallion has been in the news for her performance at the BET Awards’ pre-show, sick freestyles, an upcoming documentary and more. Now, she’s making news for a series of past homophobic tweets that went viral earlier this week.
The “Sex Talk” rapper took to her Twitter account Thursday (June 27) to respond to the resurfaced comments, adding that she previously apologized for the remarks and her past views do not reflect who she is today.
The tweet, which Megan says was written while she was in high school, read, “This lil f****t just pissed me off.” She addressed the tweet on Thursday (June 27), writing, “You going this far over a tweet from 2012?” she wrote. “That obviously meant no harm coming from me in high school, you mfs are sick. I’ve already apologized for tweets that obviously do not represent my views now. I don’t do nothing but show love to everyone so just stop.”

Meg’s tweet arrives after someone on the internet did some digging into the 2019 XXL Freshman’s tweets from before she was famous and found a 2011 post where she used the word “faggot.” The screenshot of the aforementioned tweet went viral last summer. Shortly after the tweet surfaced, Meg apologized.
“I grew up & learned how to not be insensitive,” Meg wrote. “I don’t judge anyone I accept everyone as they are no matter their color or sexual preference.”
As one of the newest additions to 2019 XXL Freshman Class, Megan is headed to London to perform at the start of July, putting the social media fury well behind her. She will return to prepare for the “Legendary Nights Tour” with Meek Mill, Future, YG, and DJ Mustard kicking off in late August.
