Alexander Oswald Mowbray, better known as Lecky, is a talented artist with roots in Australia and Fiji. He’s made a name for himself as a rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. After years of sharing his music for free online, he dropped his second studio album, “Lovers 2 Enemies,” in November 2023 under his own label, LeckyENT.
The album received a lot of love from critics and fans alike, featuring hit singles like “Love & Lust,” “Goku,” and “Volkanovski.” In February 2024, he kept the momentum going with his third album, “Enemies 2 Lovers,” also released under LeckyENT, which includes popular tracks such as “Secrets,” “24 Hours,” and “Minute Maid.” Besides his solo work, he’s part of the Melbourne hip hop collective LeckyENT.
Lecky was born on November 8, 2002, in Melbourne, Australia, and has Fijian heritage. He grew up in a family that embraced both Australian and Fijian cultures, alongside two siblings. His childhood in Melbourne wasn’t easy, especially with his father’s imprisonment, which led to him being placed in a permanent home by the Department of Human Services.
He started his musical journey early on, learning guitar from his brother and picking up various instruments over time. By the age of seven, he was writing rap lyrics, and by fourteen, he was producing beats, eventually releasing his first single on July 4, 2020. By sixteen, he had already launched his debut track and was busy creating beats and making music.
Lecky draws inspiration from artists like G-Unit, 50 Cent, and Eminem. He spent about four years honing his production skills before he started recording his own raps. What sets Lecky apart is his ability to independently produce, mix, master, engineer, write, and perform most of his tracks. His music is a cool mix of hip hop and R&B, often blending rapping with singing in the choruses.
