Rockstar Games is facing a fresh wave of apparent GTA 6 leaks, with gameplay clips and map material circulating online just days before the company’s major Netflix showcase.
New GTA 6 gameplay leaks have surfaced ahead of Rockstar Games’ planned “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look” presentation on August 27. As PC Gamer reports, multiple clips attributed to an online source calling itself Cyberleek appear to show protagonist Jason Duval moving through the open world, while images presented as portions of the Leonida map have also spread online.
One widely circulated clip reportedly shows Jason at a waterfront property before picking up a basketball and shooting at a hoop, with the interface displaying a “Focus” boost after a successful shot. Another apparent gameplay sequence features driving, a collision and a confrontation with an NPC, offering glimpses of systems and HUD elements that Rockstar has not officially detailed or confirmed.
The material should still be treated cautiously. Rockstar and parent company Take-Two Interactive have not publicly authenticated the individual clips, and footage from an unfinished build may not represent the final game even if genuine. The studio has already endured one of gaming’s most notorious leaks, when extensive early-development GTA 6 footage was illegally obtained and released online in 2022.
The timing is particularly notable because Rockstar has officially set its “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look” for August 27. The presentation premieres on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET, before arriving on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel and GTA 6 website at 9 p.m. ET the same day, according to the company’s Newswire announcement.
That event is expected to provide Rockstar’s most substantial sanctioned look at GTA 6 yet, making the sudden circulation of purported gameplay a headache for a company known for tightly controlling its reveals. While the leaks may expose mechanics and locations ahead of schedule, the August 27 presentation will remain the authoritative source for whatever features and gameplay details Rockstar chooses to confirm.
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game follows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos across the fictional state of Leonida, with Vice City at the center of Rockstar’s long-awaited return to its Florida-inspired setting.
