Former second-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks, Malik McDowell was captured on surveillance video fighting an encounter with an officer in Lathrup Village, MI after he was stopped at a gas station back in February.
TMZ released the footage of the entire fight which shows McDowell disregard the officer’s orders which quickly turned into a two-man melee inside the gas station convenience store.
Another officer eventually provided backup to assist in subduing McDowell and later wrote in her police report that McDowell “grabbed for my gun as I was trying to grab his arm.” The report also said that McDowell “had a strong odor of intoxicants emanating from his persons” but did not specify whether it was alcohol or some other drug. However, TMZ recently reported McDowell has a BAC or Blood Alcohol Content level of .189 which is twice the legal limit.
McDowell was arraigned back in May on 2 counts of felony assault and resisting. The NFL free agent is due back in court later this month.
