What 3 things does anyone starting in your industry need to know?
They need to know that it will not be easy, it takes a lot of patience, and you need people for everything no matter how “independent” you are.
What would you do differently if you were starting in your industry now?
Nothing, I believe that every risk that I have taken and every mistake that I have made led me to this moment and I was able to learn from each experience, good or bad.
Which people or books have had the most influence on your growth and why?
Artists like Tupac, Michael Jackson, and Lil Kim have been part of my inspiration in my musical journey. But it is hard to pinpoint a particular person since I have been inspired by most artists that have come before me in different ways.
What has been your biggest success story? Why do you think it was a success?
My biggest success story was releasing my first single. As an artist I would love to have each song be diamond certified, but I have learned that success in the industry is a multi-step process. Everything takes time but starting is what counts. Taking that initial step to put myself out there and be vulnerable was my biggest success. It gave me the courage to be fearless moving forward.
What keeps you going when things get tough in the music industry?
Remembering that I have a goal that I must accomplish. I remind myself that my success is bigger than just something to be proud of, but it is something that can put my family into a better position in life.
What made you pursue being an artist full-time?
I was a model for a few years during high school entering into college. That career did not fulfill me because I have always been very creative and I needed a way to express myself. Music gave me that outlet and I thought, why do something and not be serious about it? So I took it seriously from day one and ended up falling in love with making music.
Would you sign to a label?
Yes I would. Being independent has been fun and it has given me a sense of the grind, but I believe I am ready to sign to a major label.
What projects are you working on for the rest of 2025?
I have a few new singles coming out to showcase my versatility as well as a mixtape following the release of my new singles.
