Chief Keef finally completed his long-awaited Chicago homecoming with his first headlining concert inside the city in 14 years, taking over Huntington Bank Pavilion on September 23.
Chief Keef returned to a Chicago stage on Wednesday night for a sold-out hometown show at Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island. The performance marked his first headlining concert within Chicago city limits since 2012, ending a gap that had stretched across more than a decade.
The milestone comes with an important distinction. Keef has performed in the Chicago area in recent years, including Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash in 2024 and again in 2026, but those appearances took place in Bridgeview, Illinois, outside the city itself.
The concert was originally scheduled for September 12 as the opening date of his Chief Keef Live 2026 tour, but it was postponed shortly before showtime because of travel delays. Huntington Bank Pavilion moved the date to September 23, with previously purchased tickets honored for the rescheduled performance.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Keef delivered a set that leaned heavily on the records that helped define his career, including “Bang,” “I Don’t Like,” “Love Sosa,” “Hadouken” and a closing performance of “Faneto.” Ballout, Tadoe and other members of his circle also joined him onstage throughout the night.
Chance the Rapper made a surprise appearance during the show and performed “No Problem,” adding another major Chicago moment to the homecoming. A live band also joined parts of the set, bringing a different texture to songs including “Love Sosa” and “I Don’t Like.”
The show is part of Keef’s current touring run following the release of his 2026 project Skeletor. Even with his recent appearances around the Chicago area, the September 23 concert stands apart as the night Chief Keef finally returned to headline a show in the city where his rise began.
