Following a year of building momentum, Chasey The Illest looks to head into the new year in style as he draws back the curtain on his new EP, ‘Cirrus Clouds’. Following the release of two teaser singles earlier in the year, Chasey has garnered the attention of the likes of Colours Studio and Music Crowns.
Opening with the boundary-pushing ‘Carry Me’, the EP starts as Chasey means to go on, bringing a vivid contemporary stamp to an energy-filled soundscape. Coupling together slick hip-hop percussions and boundless flows, the six-track project stands its ground as an emphatic body of work. Fusing a raw, authentic backbone with a vivid, cinematic ambience, ‘Cirrus Cloud’ is the project of an artist who is only just getting started.
The EP explores the battles of Chasey’s mission to the top, navigating the complexities and challenges of being an artist in the modern day, painting his canvas with a rich, hip-hop-guided finesse. Tracks like ‘Flex’s Interlude’ and ‘Beacon Hill’ highlight the sonic eloquence of Chasey, bringing a masterful wordsmithing to the forefront of the EP.
Speaking about the project, Chasey explains, “Cirrus Clouds is a short collection of what I would call my journey to making it ‘big’. Moments of my life, trying to get to the top, wherever that is. Its original purpose was supposed to be a follow-up to my previous EP Afraid of Heights, but now I think Cirrus Clouds just has its own thing.”
