Beyoncé Revives Fan-Favorite “MORNING DEW (DONK)” Ahead of B’DAY Anniversary Reissue

Published on July 24, 2026

Beyoncé has surprised fans with the release of “MORNING DEW (DONK),” her first new song in two years. The track arrived on July 4 as a special gift to the BeyHive and officially launched a 60-day countdown to Beyoncé’s birthday and the 20th-anniversary reissue of her second studio album, B’DAY.

Written by Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, The-Dream, and Darius Dixon, the song was produced by Beyoncé and Pharrell. The slow-grooving record brings an unreleased fan favorite into Beyoncé’s official catalog, giving longtime listeners a polished version of a track that had been discussed and circulated online for years

“MORNING DEW (DONK)” will be included on the upcoming anniversary edition of B’DAY, which is expected to arrive on September 4, exactly 20 years after the album’s original release. The 2006 project produced major records including “Déjà Vu,” “Ring the Alarm,” and “Irreplaceable,” while becoming Beyoncé’s second album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

The release is accompanied by a black-and-white lyric video created from archival footage filmed by longtime collaborator Cliff Watts. Watts previously photographed Beyoncé around the original B’DAY era, making the visual a fitting bridge between the album’s history and the upcoming anniversary celebration.

“MORNING DEW (DONK)” marks Beyoncé’s first new musical release since her 2024 album, Cowboy Carter. By revisiting an unreleased piece of her catalog while preparing to celebrate one of her most important albums, Beyoncé has given fans both a nostalgic moment and an exciting preview of what may be included in the expanded B’DAY anniversary era.
