Beyoncé is giving “MORNING DEW (DONK)” another visual moment, releasing fresh footage to accompany the remix featuring JAŸ-Z. The newly released visual pulls from previously unseen behind-the-scenes material and outtakes filmed during the making of Beyoncé’s 2006 “Upgrade U” music video, connecting her latest release directly to one of the defining eras of her career.
The visual arrives shortly after Beyoncé expanded the single with the MORNING DEW (DONK) REMIX PACK. According to Hypebeast, the collection reimagines the song through several different arrangements, including the JAŸ-Z-assisted remix, an orchestral “DONK MIX” and a stripped-back acoustic interpretation featuring guitarist René Toledo. The streaming release contains four tracks when the explicit and clean versions of the remix are counted separately.
The JAŸ-Z remix significantly changes the atmosphere of the original recording. It incorporates elements associated with Sheck Wes’ “Mo Bamba” and Goodie Mob’s “They Don’t Dance No Mo’” before shifting into a slower section built around The Isley Brothers’ “Between the Sheets,” the 1983 classic famously sampled on The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Big Poppa.” JAŸ-Z then enters with a rare guest verse, giving the husband-and-wife duo another addition to their long collaborative history.
The collaboration is also notable because it marks Beyoncé and JAŸ-Z’s first joint track in roughly five years, following their 2021 appearance on DJ Khaled’s “Sorry Not Sorry.” JAŸ-Z has remained selective with new verses in recent years, making his appearance on the remix one of the project’s biggest talking points since the pack arrived earlier this month.
“MORNING DEW (DONK)” itself has an unusual history. The song dates back to sessions surrounding Beyoncé’s 2013 self-titled era and circulated unofficially among fans before receiving an official release on July 4, 2026. Its return comes as Beyoncé prepares to celebrate the 20th anniversary of B’Day, the 2006 album that originally housed “Upgrade U” and helped cement one of the most celebrated periods of her solo career.
By pairing the remix with unreleased “Upgrade U” footage, Beyoncé has found a way to connect newly released music with imagery from nearly two decades ago without simply recreating the past. The result gives longtime fans something genuinely unseen while continuing the broader celebration surrounding B’Day, and with JAŸ-Z appearing on the record, the release also brings together two different chapters of the Carters’ musical history.
