BARCODE813 and ineedmoneywave are on a mission to prove just how much they have both grown in their musical abilities, and what better way to do that than a project that showcases each creator’s talent equally? Type Shit is the product of a prolific two weeks together where the duo recorded all nine of the album’s brilliant tracks.
What started as a fast friendship has blossomed into a ruthless rapper-producer dynamic, and the kaleidoscope of sounds featured on Type Shit put their immense talents on display. The two have clearly bonded over a shared passion.
“We started cranking out songs left and right — nine in the span of two weeks to be exact — and thought it would be a dope idea to throw together a project to showcase how far we’ve come since we started making music, and how versatile and experimental we could be within the genre as a whole,” said BARCODE813.
The Ocean Beach, California born and bred BARCODE813 met Oshkosh, Wisconsin native ineedwave when they both worked at Shangri La in Malibu, California. BARCODE813 is on a mission to put himself “back out there” in the rap scene after shifting his focus towards engineering, while WAVE was stockpiling beats with no vocalist to spit “gasoline” on them.
What’s more, after attending audio engineering school, both creatives tracked, mixed and mastered all of their collaborative efforts and handled their solo work themselves, which just goes to show you that their talents extend far beyond the microphone.
So, does the collaboration stop here? The answer is a fat no.
“We’ve already been plotting and scheming in terms of working on new ideas,” BARCODE813 said. “Type Shit is only the beginning.”
“Type Shit 2, or maybe a different title, but we’re running it back on another project ASAP,” ineedmoneywave added.
You can expect an increase in quality every time these two fantastic artists drop. Whether they are locking in together in L.A. or branching out in separate directions, there’s no question that these two artists are just entering the prime of their musical careers.
