Baltimore's Best Kept Secret is Out: DZOL's "Go Out And Get It"

Man, you gotta love it when the underdogs come out swinging. While the major labels were busy cooking up their next manufactured hit, a dude from Baltimore’s mean streets just crashed the party, elbowing his way past the likes of Drake and Cardi B to grab the #3 spot on the DJ Digital Charts.

DZOL (yeah, that’s what they call him these days) dropped “Go Out And Get It” back in November ’23, and holy smokes, the joint’s been raising hell ever since. Word is, this cat used to go by Pimp Dzol – but forget all that. The track we’re talking about here ain’t about image or flash. It’s about getting your hands dirty and grabbing what’s yours.

Let me tell you something about this track. First time I heard that monster baritone voice come thundering through the speakers, I knew this wasn’t just another wannabe with a dream and a demo tape. The production, handled by hotshot Sam Peezy (one of those Grammy-nominated types who usually doesn’t mess with newcomers), hits like a sledgehammer wrapped in velvet.

Behind the scenes, there’s this lady named Sharon Ford running We Rollin’ Records out of Maryland. She found DZOL back in ’04 when he was just another face in the crowd. Now that’s what I call an ear for talent. For an upcoming EP, she linked up with Christopher Starr‘s CSP Music Group – you know, the crew that’s worked with everyone from Beyoncé to Ed Sheeran – to handle the production. Smart move, Sharon. Real smart.

You wanna talk numbers? Check this out: 771,000+ social media views (and counting), pushing almost 200K Spotify playlist followers, and enough total reach to fill Madison Square Garden thirty times over. Not too shabby for a dude who was opening for Migos a few years back. Remember that Ja Rule/Ashanti show in Philly? DZOL was there, warming up the crowd. Word is, Ja was so impressed he let the man use his personal DJ. That’s street cred you can’t buy, folks.

“Go Out And Get It” itself is pure fire. None of that processed, over-produced garbage clogging up your radio these days. This is raw, this is real, this is what happens when somebody’s actually got something to say. DZOL ain’t playing around when he gets on the mic – every bar comes straight from the gut, telling stories about climbing up from nothing, dealing with the haters, and keeping the faith when everything’s falling apart.

“I’ve experienced so many roadblocks,” DZOL shared. “But stayed the course and maneuvered every curve and slippery slope.” Preach, brother. Preach.

If you’re wondering who DZOL‘s been studying, he’ll tell you straight up – Tupac’s his north star. You can hear it in the way he approaches each verse, like he’s got something to prove, like every line might be his last chance to make you understand where he’s coming from. No permission asked, no apologies given. That’s how they used to do it back in the day, and damn if it isn’t refreshing to see somebody still keeping it real in 2025.

I’ve been covering this scene long enough to know when somebody’s just riding a wave and when somebody’s creating their own tsunami. DZOL’s got an EP in the chamber that hasn’t even dropped yet, and if “Go Out And Get It” is any indication of what’s coming, the big boys better watch their backs.
