Kasim Allah, a native of New Rochelle (Now Rule), bursts back onto the scene with his third project since his notable introduction on Lord Jamar’s The 5% Album in 2006. This latest release is a thrilling collaboration featuring Iron Sheik, renowned for his work with the Wu Tang Clan.
Kasim’s debut solo album, Living Mathematics, received critical acclaim, propelling him forward in his mission to bring conscious and righteous lyrics back to hip-hop. Reflecting on his journey from spoken word artist to a full-fledged recording artist, Kasim shares, “I took what Jamar told me and ran with it. I was deep into spoken word because it allowed me to spit these righteous and conscious lyrics that were missing in hip-hop. Poetry was my entry point, and that’s how Jamar discovered me.”
Over a decade later, the synergy between New York-born, L.A.-based Iron Sheik and Kasim Allah proves to be a perfect blend for this groundbreaking mixtape.
