John Brown & Branch Rickey Debuts Their New Single, ‘Nature Boy’

An old-school hip-hop anthem, ‘Nature Boy‘ is the first single from John Brown & Branch Rickey’s upcoming album Pulling Weeds! From warm melodies, and intelligent lyricism, Brown & Rickey have set themselves up for a successful start to their album.

Hard work taught them how to navigate any environment they may encounter. And those lessons that were learned coming of age are represented in this single. And like all John Brown and Branch Rickey compositions, it’s full of hidden meaning, double entendres, and metaphors that are meant to fundamentally speak to the human nature and condition that we all find ourselves in from birth.

Representing the Bay Area and the Dot Dot Dot Community Supported Artist Collective, Rapper John Brown and producer Branch Rickey have combined to release a series of albums in 2021 that chronicle the life cycle of the farmer as a metaphor for their own growth in life.

2/3 of the Hip Hop group Rebel’s Advocate, Brown and Rickey have been making underground Hip Hop music together for over 20 years. They’ve toured all over the country, have opened up for Hip Hop legends like Rakim, Brother Ali, Blackalicious, and others. Listen to ‘Nature Boy’ below.
