Born in Scarborough, Ontario, Toronto based artist Choo has been patiently waiting for his moment to take the city by storm, with his distinct raspy voice, witty lyrics and constant flow switches. He attacks the microphone with energy, charisma, and control. Growing up in Malvern in his early years, Choo quickly learned to avoid whatever his surroundings were, and turned to music.
Constantly digesting music from Marvin Gaye, Bon Iver, and Jay-Z, the uniqueness to his creativity was being assembled. Now residing in Ajax, he is ready to showcase everything he’s been hiding. Choo will be releasing his debut EP ‘CHOO BOY’ this fall 2021.
“REDLINES” is all about crossing out the negative baggage we carry as humans. Whether it’s relationships, or things we deal with on the inside. The rise to the top always starts with letting go of our old ways. This song really embraces the energy and feeling of Toronto. That underdog, that isn’t afraid to come step in the ring.
Dealing with the thought of never being good enough was a constant inspiration behind this song. The energy in my voice is infectious throughout the entire song, painting the inner battle we all face. Take a listen below.
