Lady Gaga Bradley Cooper Shallow ITunes – Lady Gaga has debuted the track “Shallow,” a stunning duet with Bradley Cooper from their upcoming film A Star Is Born today, (Sept. 27).
“Shallow” is just one track off of the highly-anticipated film’s soundtrack. A Star Is Born tells the story of Ally (Gaga), a young and aspiring singer, who falls for her mentor Jackson Maine (Cooper), a country star fighting inner demons.
In a recent interview with Zane Lowe, Gaga praised Cooper as both a director and costar. Commenting on his singing voice, Gaga said, “He just sings from his soul and he knows how to tell a story when he’s singing, and I heard it right away.”
The song’s release also includes a video of Cooper and Gaga performing the song in A Star Is Born along with other footage from the film. The video begins with Maine singing “Shallow” alone onstage, where he is reluctantly joined by Ally, and together the two perform their powerful duet. Snippets from the film follow that hint at their developing romance, as well as Maine’s struggles with drinking.
“Shallow,” which was written by Gaga along with Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt, and Anthony Rossomando, is a strong ballad that features a striking harmony between Gaga and Cooper.
Gaga also told Lowe that “Shallow” occurs at such a “crucial moment” in the film. “It’s two people talking to each other and talking about the need and the drive to dive in to the deep end and stay away from the shallow area,” Gaga said.
A Star Is Born is set to be released in theaters Oct. 5, and the soundtrack will be released the same day through Interscope.
