Oruam was introduced as a new YSL artist during Young Thug’s October 17 show in Germany, with a collaboration already recorded.
Brazilian rapper Oruam has joined Young Stoner Life Records, according to new reporting from Brazilian hip-hop outlets RapMais and Rap Dab. The announcement took place onstage in Germany on October 17 during Young Thug’s European tour, turning a recent run of appearances alongside the Atlanta rapper into a formal label affiliation.
Rap Dab reported that Tezzus presented Oruam with a YSL chain and introduced him to the audience as a new member of the label. Other artists onstage embraced the Brazilian rapper during the announcement, which came in front of fans attending the tour’s German stop.
The connection developed through producer and YSL artist Yume, according to a separate RapMais report about the signing. Borges had introduced Yume to Oruam’s music, and she later helped connect Oruam with Thug over FaceTime. The report says Thug became interested in Oruam’s melodies and subsequently added a verse to a recording involving the Brazilian artist.
RapMais also reported that Oruam resolved outstanding matters with Mainstreet before traveling and completed the YSL agreement in Europe. The October 17 stage introduction therefore marked the public announcement of that move, rather than simply another guest appearance. RapMais included the accompanying Instagram post in its coverage of the announcement.
The next step is new music with Young Thug. Rap Dab reported that Oruam filmed a video with Thug and Yume on the streets of Germany following the show. The collaboration has not yet been assigned a publicly confirmed release date in the reports reviewed, so the signing should not be confused with a song or video release.
Oruam’s arrival adds a Brazilian artist to the current YSL roster, which RapMais identifies as including Strick, Yung Kayo, BSlime and newer names such as 1300Saint and Yume. The label’s recent activity includes Slime Language 3, released in August, while its artists have been sharing the stage during Thug’s current tour. For Oruam, the immediate focus is the announced label relationship and the unreleased collaboration already in motion.
