BloodHound Q50’s Jeweler Apologizes After Bloodstained Chain Video Draws Backlash

A Chicago jeweler has apologized after a video showing BloodHound Q50’s bloodstained chain and Rolex being cleaned drew backlash days after the rapper’s death.

The jeweler, known online as VVS King, posted footage on September 17 showing a Cuban link chain and iced-out Rolex that had reportedly been brought in for cleaning by BloodHound Q50’s mother, Machetta Dudley. According to Hoodline, the clip was removed after viewers criticized the decision to share the bloodied jewelry publicly.

In a subsequent apology, the jeweler said he had not fully considered the circumstances surrounding the post or how it could affect people grieving Q50. He opened by saying, “I want to sincerely apologize for the insensitive post I made earlier,” and acknowledged that the reaction made clear the post had crossed a line.

He also said there was no intention to disrespect BloodHound Q50, his family or anyone affected by the shooting. The jeweler said he took responsibility for posting the footage, removed it, and admitted that better judgment should have been used before putting such a sensitive moment online.

The original video circulated widely before it was taken down, showing the jeweler cleaning the damaged chain and watch after the items were brought into the store. No official account has established exactly how the visible damage to the jewelry occurred, so online speculation about the condition of the pieces remains unverified.

BloodHound Q50, whose real name was Mikquale Cooper, was 22 when he was fatally shot in Chicago’s Fuller Park neighborhood on September 13. Police said multiple offenders opened fire while he was seated in a vehicle, and the Cook County medical examiner later confirmed that he died from multiple gunshot wounds.

The apology arrives as Q50’s family, friends and fans continue mourning the rising Chicago rapper while police investigate the killing. The controversy has added another painful layer to the aftermath, with the jeweler now saying he removed the original post and took responsibility for sharing it.
