Jauhara Jeffries is asking a Miami-Dade court to let her access part of the confidential settlement she reached with Trey Songz while a lien dispute remains unresolved.
A year after Trey Songz and Jeffries resolved their long-running civil case, the dispute has shifted to when the settlement proceeds can actually be released. TMZ reports, citing court documents, that the money is being held in a court-controlled escrow account while a lien issue is addressed.
According to the report, Jeffries asked the court to release 55 percent of the settlement or all funds above $69,950.52. She argued that the continued delay is preventing her from moving forward with matters in her life, while the full amount of the confidential agreement has not been publicly disclosed.
The underlying lawsuit stemmed from Jeffries’ allegation that Songz, whose legal name is Tremaine Neverson, sexually assaulted her at E11EVEN Miami in the early hours of January 1, 2018. Jeffries later brought the case in Miami-Dade County, while Songz denied the sexual assault allegations.
In September 2025, Complex reported that the parties had reached a confidential settlement shortly before the case was expected to go to trial. The court dismissed the case after being advised that the matter had been settled as to all parties and retained jurisdiction to enforce the agreement, meaning the allegations were not resolved through a trial verdict.
The latest filing concerns distribution of the settlement proceeds rather than a new sexual assault claim against the singer. Because the agreement remains confidential, the exact settlement total is still not public, although the request involving the $69,950.52 threshold offers a limited indication of the money currently at issue.
TMZ reports that the court denied Jeffries’ request for an immediate partial release but set another hearing for later in September. For now, the settlement funds remain tied up while the lien dispute continues, and no final public ruling on how the money will be distributed has been reported.
