50 Cent is already having fun with the allegations surrounding a Penn State fraternity cocaine case, joking that the sprawling scandal could become material for another television project.

50 Cent has turned his attention to the alleged Penn State cocaine trafficking ring that resulted in charges against 14 people this week. The rapper and television producer reacted to the case with an AI-generated Instagram video and teased the idea of adapting the headline-grabbing allegations for the screen, writing, “New show alert we going to penn state, Pablo pledgecobar frat bro’s let go !”

The clip riffs on Scarface and depicts accused former Sigma Chi member Agostino Abbatiello in a fictionalized scene surrounded by bags of white powder and stacks of cash. “Everybody wants to be Scarface but nobody wants that 8 a.m. accounting class,” the AI character says before picking up a calculator for another joke. Complex noted that 50 may simply be trolling rather than announcing a formally developed series, and no network, studio, production schedule or official title has been disclosed.

The real case behind the joke is significantly more serious. Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced charges following an investigation dubbed “Operation Drugs Unlimited,” with authorities alleging that a cocaine distribution operation revolved around members and pledges connected to the Sigma Chi and Delta Upsilon fraternities during 2023 and 2024. Thirteen defendants were current or former Penn State students, while another defendant is the father of one of the accused.

Authorities allege Abbatiello and Thomas Robinson were the operation’s primary suppliers and regularly traveled to Philadelphia and New York to obtain cocaine. Investigators say the drugs were later cut and packaged at fraternity houses and sold largely to other Penn State students, with some pledges allegedly participating in the preparation process as part of their fraternity indoctrination. Abbatiello, Robinson, Mohammed Hurabi and Lars Zeepvat are among those facing felony counts that include corrupt organizations and conspiracy, while other defendants face a range of additional charges.

50 Cent’s Penn State series tease fits his habit of quickly spotting real-world stories that could translate into film or television. Through G-Unit Film & Television, he has built a substantial producing résumé around crime dramas and true-crime projects, most notably the expanding Power franchise, while continuing to announce and develop projects across scripted and unscripted entertainment.

For now, the Penn State idea remains a joke rather than a confirmed production, but the allegations have already generated the kind of larger-than-life details that caught 50’s attention. The defendants are entitled to the presumption of innocence, and the charges remain allegations unless proven in court, meaning any actual adaptation would be far more complicated than the playful AI reel that prompted his “new show” comment.
