The nominees for the 2020 GRAMMY Awards were announced this morning by hosts Alicia Keys and Bebe Rexha alongside president/CEO Deborah Dugan and Academy Chair of the Board of Trustees Harvey Mason Jr.
Nipsey Hussle’s final release before his death, “Racks in the Middle” featuring Roddy Richh and Hit-Boy, was nominated for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance. DJ Khaled and John Legend’s collaboration with Nipsey, “Higher,” also landed a nomination for Best Rap/Sung Performance. Nipsey’s Victory Lap was nominated for a Best Rap Album in 2019, but lost out to Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy.
Lizzo led the pack with 8 nominations, including for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year. She was followed by Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X, who grabbed six nominations each.
