Fresh off the release of his EP Righteously Sinful, YvngScvda is raring to go with more content and is not hesitant when it comes to dropping. Sonically, he is influenced by the likes of J. Cole, Ski Mask the Slump God, Juice WRLD, Hopsin and A Boogie wit da Hoodie, to name a few. However, his influences — and planned artistic path — stretch far beyond rap.
“Music has always been a huge part of my life since I was a little kid…I remember listening to all the old school soul music my mom loved in the car,” YvngScvda said. “I’m influenced by all genres of music and plan on dabbling in more genres than just hip-hop and R&B.”
When it comes to primary inspirations for his artistic career in general, the North Carolina born rapper cites several very important family members as his main motivators.
“I am a proud father of two daughters, [and] my daughters are my biggest inspiration to keep becoming a better artist and keep pushing myself,” YvngScvda said. “I come from a very musically inclined family full of singers and musicians so I’ve always been around music.”
“Music has always had a large role in my life and has helped me escape the reality of life’s ups and downs…it has fed my soul,” he added.
The only direction is up for an artist like YvngScvda, who seems to get better and better with each release. It won’t be long before you see him at the top with some of the industry’s biggest names.
