Unrico Nesbitt also known as Yung Keil is a 22 year old Atlanta, Georgia native with a huge love for music production. Since a young age, he grew up listening to Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, and others and it made his sound unique in his own way. Growing up, his father made beats, and naturally Keil took on the interest in music. Starting small making his first song on just a blackberry phone, this artist used all he had to try it out. At the age of just 13, he began making beats, staying up late trying to make the best possible.
As a teen, Keil was freestyling for others and began recording vocals. He realized how good he was, and it was settled. Yung Keil is versatile, not like the other musicians in the industry. He chooses the best beat every time, making it different and allowing his music to stand out. When he expresses his music, it shows true feelings and things that he had gone through at a young age. Keil tells a story with his music, showing off what he encountered, whether good or bad, and how he got through it.
His first year making music, he achieved over 30,000 streams on all platforms, with just two songs out. He began connecting and working with other musicians, and he even shot his first music video to a song he was featured in. With him releasing music consistently came lots of great awards. He released two songs “Cincinnati Bengals” & “At Night” which both got over 10,000 streams each since being released. In 2021, Yung Keil dropped his first project “730” which featured his two best songs above, and it exceeded his expectations, surpassing over 50,000 total streams.
Being a rapper, musician, or producer of any kind has it’s ups and downs, it’s natural. Yung Keil had trouble finding his audience and learning how production works. From mixing and mastering songs to funding and promoting himself with no real platform or help. To overcome these challenges, Keil watched YouTube videos on how to improve his song quality and run ads that work on social media platforms. He began gathering a team of supporters and they pushed the song consistently until they saw results.
Yung Keil knows the industry is growing and he only has a limited time to make his legacy. Within the next few years, he plans to experience more in his music and grow a much larger audience. He’s been an independent artist most of his career but would be fine with signing if it meant good for him. Keil wants to bring his cousins on stage while he performs and strives to sell out crowds of fans. Rolling Loud would be a major goal for him as some of his favorite artists perform there, and it would be the best way for him to build relationships and network with those already successful in music. He has no stress, and cannot wait until he is strong enough to give back to those who made him who he is.
