When it comes to Jumpman collabs, the COMME des GARÇONS x Air Jordan 1 takes the cake as one of the weirdest ones yet. First unveiled back on the runways of Paris Fashion Week, this has got to be one of the most talked-about AJ1s since the Off-White collab back in 2017, and it’s easy to see why!
Unlike Jordan Brand collaborations of the past that really only switch up the colourway and add a few logos here and there, Rei Kawakubo’s take on the ’80s classic reworks everything to a T. Showcased in all-black and all-white flavours, both models are crafted from all-leather constructions, and take design cues from the traditional motorcycle boot, with a few punk rock details also introduced, including an exaggerated ankle strap and silver studs.
A Jumpman comes embossed on the heel, while co-branded detailing hits the insole and tongue, which has been extended for a look that’s sure to turn heads. Take a closer look at the COMME des GARÇONS x Air Jordan 1 Retro High above and stay tuned for official release details.
