According to a new report, next year’s instalment in the Call of Duty first-person shooter series will reportedly be a reboot of Call of Duty: Black Ops and be set during the Cold War.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be coming out on October 25th and be a reboot of the popular subseries of the same name. It’ll be a gritty and realistic representation of its namesake. By the sounds of it, Treyarch will be going a similar route with Call of Duty title.
According to a new report by LongSensation, next year’s entry in the long-running first-person shooter series will be a reboot of the Call of Duty: Black Ops series and be even more grizzly than the aforementioned, upcoming instalment.

Apparently, the next Call of Duty game will be set during the Cold War and span over forty years. Both the Vietnam and Korean War will both be included to some degree. It’s said that the in-development Treyarch game has been listed under two titles thus far, both Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops V.
It’s worth noting that these are just rumours. However, LongSensation has proven himself to be a reputable source in the past — having stated that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare would be titled as such and be a reboot prior to those things being officially announced by Infinity Ward.
