Nicki Minaj Signs On For Angry Birds Movie Sequel

The animated film hits theaters next summer.

Nicki Minaj will be animated for a new movie role. According to Variety, Minaj has signed on to voice a character in The Angry Birds Movie 2, out next summer.

The “Barbie Dreams” rapper joins an all-star cast that includes Saturday Night Live’s Leslie Jones, SNL alums Jason Sudeikis and Bill Hader, Sterling K. Brown, Peter Dinklage, Danny McBride, Awkwafina and Lil Rel Howery.

The upcoming sequel to the 2016 animated film, which is based off the popular video game, hits theaters on Aug. 16, 2019. The release date marks the 10-year anniversary of the video game’s initial release.

Minaj meanwhile has a busy year ahead. On the music front, the Queens native recently announced dates for the European leg of her world tour, with Juice Wrld replacing Future as her opening act.

The jaunt kicks off in Munich early next year.
