Everybody is born with a star inside them, but only a few get the chance to act on their fantasies. This can be attributed to a lack of a clear plan for stardom or success. Some people argue that the trial-and-error approach is the formula for success, but the question remains, what does it take to find stardom?
Get to know Cleveland’s fast rising artist La from treemix ent as he tells his story.
Born and raised on the east side of Cleveland ohio In the land of the heartless is what we like to call it out here. Not much support and love giving by anyone around here so growing up around that made me determined to be a voice. Surrounded by violence, gangs and poverty it makes you work harder to have the life you feel you deserve. Grew up in a big family. Now days I’m usually alone and focusing on whats important to me.
Ever since I was a lil boy I was always in the hood freestyling and battle rapping for money. Always wanted to take it serious but it’s hard to invest in music without a budget. Over the years I grew to love the music game more n more and bought myself a studio. With the help of a childhood friend we started recording ourselves and learning the game more. Through years of selling studio time and mixing and mastering for other people I decided it was time for me to give it a try. After the death of a friend who I considered family I was devastated.
I had to put my pain into something. We had a dream of making it big together. Now I feel like i have to do it for us. And all the other people who didn’t have a chance to chase their dreams. I am the voice of the silent. As an independent artist I’ve made alot of mistakes but I’ve also grown alot. In less than a year I managed to reached over 40k views on my music videos. Over 95k on Spotify in less than 9 months of releasing music on all platforms. The support of other independent artist help me create music to help motivate educate and hopefully help get rid of the pain we all tend to feel.
My mother is a nurse and one of the sweetest women alive. My dad is a man with the ambition of a warrior. The combination gave me the ability to be able to stay determined through it all and manage to release my first song in October last year. Since the first single I have released more than 20 singles and 3 music videos. My unique style comes from listening to artist such as Jadakiss, Dipset, Lil wayne and singers such as Anthony Hamilton, Donell Jones and Tyrese helps me make a unique style of music. And coming from Cleveland ohio artist like Bone thugs n harmony and Avant also helped me learn about diversity and being original.
Music is a passion never been a hobby. Now I have the honor to say I am an unsigned independent artist who gets played on radio stations around the U.S. In my first year I’ve managed to even land a major feature from one of my favorite artist which is Hell Rell from dipset on my number 1 streaming song on spotify Training day. The remix featuring hell rell will be released within the next 2 months at a determined date. My latest single “no friends” was released April 11th on all platforms. Proud to say it has reached over 20 thousand streams on Spotify already and counting. I am completely honored and appreciate everyone streaming my fans.
I love my fans. Their struggles are my struggles and I feel their pains, thru my music brings us closer. “No friend” is a story pretty much about the girl that got away. And I feel we all have had the one girl/boy we wish we could have saved. Rest in Peace to my son Marcus Alan and kiah Marie mother Ashley Marie Hall Along with her and more than 10 friends in the past 3 years losing their lives I felt it was time to do something to make them and my children proud. I have 4 kids. Marcus kiah Elijah karmen. I wrote my song far away about my daughter’s. “No friends” is dedicated to Ashley. “Disassociated” is dedicated to my childhood friend who we lost to overdose.
I try to make meaningful music about the pain that we were never taught about as children. There isn’t a book on life. I like to be the person to help any person in need or feeling lost. I didn’t have that when I needed it so I feel it’s my obligation to play my part. Music is more than a career or anything like that. Music is me La from treemix ent is my artist name. La stands for lyrics and ambition. I tend to like to tell my story over Instrumentals. I hope to help other independent artists in anyway I can to reach max potential.
I’ve always been a team player. Just a popular loner. My real name is Alan Brown but I’ve been called La since I was a teenager so the name stuck. I do what I do for the people who can Support goes a long way but people have a hard time showing it to each other. I’m here to say Cleveland ohio is on the way Alot of hidden talent out here and I’m playing my part to bring us all up top, I love rapping but mixing and mastering is fun too. Im willing to work with any artist Tracks like cold shoulder and watch talk about how u can’t trust everyone.
“Training day” which is the number 1 streaming on Spotify is more aggressive showing my word play. I told you is a freestyle that I made that has the most views on music videos for me. Disassociated and Line up music videos are growing up. Line up is the first music video I ever made professional. I have a music video for my song set in stone that will be out in the next few weeks. Collabed with a Russian producer on that one and the producer I use on almost every song and made a song together.
