“Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” has reached No. 9 on the Canadian iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap chart, giving L100T a new career milestone while introducing listeners to a record inspired by experiences that extend far beyond music.

After initially being diagnosed with adjustment disorder, anxiety and depression, L100T felt the diagnoses did not completely explain what he was experiencing. His symptoms were eventually connected to PTSD, giving him a better understanding of the emotional changes and reactions he had been trying to process.

The contrast between Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde gave him a creative way to express that experience.

Rather than using the characters to suggest two separate personalities, L100T uses them as a metaphor for how dramatically his emotional state can change when a trigger appears.

In ordinary moments, he can feel calm, grounded and completely like himself. When triggered, that can shift into hypervigilance, anxiety and a darker state of mind as his body and mind react to what they perceive as danger.
