Ja Morant has closed another chapter of his Memphis era, selling his longtime Tennessee property weeks after the Grizzlies sent him to Portland.
Ja Morant has sold his Memphis-area mansion for $3.2 million following his trade to the Portland Trail Blazers. WMC Action News 5 reported that county records show the Eads property in unincorporated Shelby County changed hands last week.
The sale comes months after Morant put the home on the market in April. At the time, the property was listed for $3.5 million, and Morant had owned the Eads residence since 2022, when he was still firmly established as the centerpiece of the Grizzlies.
The timing is notable because the listing arrived before Memphis ultimately moved its former franchise guard. Morant had already been the subject of trade speculation during the 2025-26 season, but the house hitting the market did not itself confirm that a deal was imminent.
That uncertainty ended in late June when the Grizzlies agreed to trade Morant to Portland. The Trail Blazers acquired the two-time All-Star in exchange for Jerami Grant and Kris Murray, giving Morant a fresh start after seven seasons tied to the organization that selected him No. 2 overall in the 2019 NBA Draft.
Morant’s connection to the Eads neighborhood extended beyond his own property. WMC previously reported that the home sits near a residence he purchased for his parents in 2019, making the area a significant part of his life during his run in Memphis.
The sale now gives the real-estate move a clearer place in Morant’s transition away from Tennessee. County records identify Marshall and Sherry Taschman as the buyers, according to WMC, while Morant turns his attention toward the next stage of his NBA career in Portland.
