HIGH POINT, N.C. — Independent rapper and recording artist N.D.A.Y.I. is building his career one release at a time, relying on consistency, discipline and a deep personal story shaped by immigration, family and persistence.
Born in Burundi, N.D.A.Y.I. moved to the United States in 2008 and grew up as one of eight children. He said those early experiences helped shape both his personality and his music.
“Growing up in a big family, you learn how to make your voice heard,” he said.
Music became an outlet at an early age. N.D.A.Y.I. remembers one of his friend’s fathers complimenting his rapping ability when he was younger, a moment that stayed with him even before he fully understood where music could take him.
While he always enjoyed creating music, he said he began taking his craft seriously in 2025 after independently releasing his track “Euphoria.” Since then, he has committed himself to releasing a new song every month while balancing long hours at a warehouse job.
The independent artist said the process has required sacrifice, discipline and patience.
“It’s been a relentless grind,” he said.
Based in High Point, North Carolina, N.D.A.Y.I. funds his music career independently and handles the pressure of building a name for himself without major-label backing. He describes his approach as focused and authentic, choosing to stay away from distractions while putting his energy into music.
That work ethic has become central to his identity as an artist.
Rather than waiting for opportunities, N.D.A.Y.I. said he is committed to creating momentum on his own through steady releases and direct connection with listeners.
His music reflects both his personal experiences and his determination to succeed despite obstacles. Drawing from his journey from Burundi to the United States, he hopes listeners connect with the honesty in his work and the consistency behind it.
As he continues releasing new music monthly, N.D.A.Y.I. said he remains focused on growth and staying true to himself as an independent artist.
“Music has become my main focus,” he said.
For N.D.A.Y.I., the goal is simple: keep working, keep improving and let the music speak for itself.
