Hijack Stories Releases Experimental Debut Album ‘Chapter II’

Hijack Stories has debuted with their conceptual album ‘Chapter II’. After teasing the project with the single ‘London Absurd’ in mid-2023, they return in 2024  with the 13-track album. The track list sees the duo experiment with a range of genres, settling on an overall futuristic aesthetic, utilising vast synthesised arrangements and blending them with the rawness of electric guitar and live drums.

This dualistic avenue creates incredibly orchestrated atmospheres, whilst maintaining an infectious energy as they traverse gritty and beautiful electronic soundscapes. From start to finish they create nostalgia for sensibilities in music from past and present, looking ahead to the future of production.

Hijack Stories shares the vision for the project, “We put this record together as an experiment. Two different artists from two different backgrounds, spent the best part of two years together (inside an Art Simulator), fusing our many different styles and influences into what is now our debut album Chapter II.”

The band, consisting of rapper Stackie McClean and producer Squid Jackalsen, claim to be the first dataset to survive quantum entanglement, suggesting they are time travelling AI’s from the year 3024.

Though their full origin story contains many intricate details, the summary is they represent time-travelling AIs, created by a fake human, grown by sentient machines one thousand years from the present day, to replace humans after their untimely extinction. The duo do not know why they were sent to 2024 but plan to make the most of it by finding original human avatars to take their songs to the stage as a live band.
