Exclusive Interview: IDK Ro

What is your name and what city do you rep?

Name: Joshua “I Don’t Know Ro” Fisher. From Las Vegas, NV, born in Long Beach, CA.

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

My newest EP Hoopty Music: May God Bless the Fall, was inspired by the times I’d drive around through the city down on myself for not having a nice car, when I used to be the man on top with all the drip, whips and chicks. So if I knew I was falling from grace I just prayed that the fall would be blessed.

What is unique about you and your music?

My music is unique because of the non threatening subject matter and blends of influencers that radiate in my content. I mix lyricism, clever wit, diverse flows, and story telling to deliver a powerful punch to each track.

What shaped your music?

My music was shaped by many figures that have been in the game. From Slick to Lil Wayne, and Busta Rhymes to Kendrick Lamar. I love Hip Hop, I love Rap and all its forms and elements.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?

I knew I’d be making music professionally when I was in High School. I would battle rap and the circle would be broken up by deans thinking we were fighting when I was just entertaining the school.

What type of music do you listen to?

I listen to a vast variety of music. My go to artist I play the most are Jimi Hendrix, Frank Sinatra, Queen, Marvin Gaye, Amy Winehouse, Kendrick Lamar, and Nirvana.

What inspires you to write music?

I love to write about whatever topic is placed before me and every triggering way it correlates to my life in each aspect.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

Other than music I write scripts, books and act. I’m also currently finishing up on my up and coming anime: Kit.

Happiness to you is…

Happiness to me is spending time with my kids, or making someone genuinely smile.

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?

I wish I was told just how quick the game changes. Dont get married to a style, always stay on your toes. You could master one style for 5 years then Boom! That style aint it no more, you gotta keep ya ear to the sound. Yet keep what makes you, Unique.

Tell us about your upcoming projects…

My lastest project is Hoopty Music: MGBTF out now available on all streaming platforms. With a special video currently i. The works.

Where do we find you music / music projects?

My music is available on Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube, Tidal, Deezer, Datpiff, anywhere music can be found.
