Angel Reese delivered a flawless start against Los Angeles, turning a perfect first half into one of the most efficient performances of her WNBA career.

Angel Reese opened Thursday night’s matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks without missing a shot, scoring 18 points on 8-for-8 shooting in the first half as the Atlanta Dream took control early. Reese also knocked down both of her 3-point attempts before halftime, giving Los Angeles another problem to solve as Atlanta built separation.

The hot start carried all the way through the final buzzer. Reese finished 9-for-9 from the field for 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in Atlanta’s 124-88 win at Crypto.com Arena, according to Sportsnet’s Associated Press report. She also added three steals while helping the Dream post a franchise-record point total.

Reese’s efficiency put her in rare WNBA company. She became just the third player in league history to record a 20-point double-double while shooting 100 percent from the field, and her nine makes without a miss established a Dream franchise record.

The performance also added another rebounding milestone to Reese’s growing résumé. Her three offensive rebounds in the first half pushed her past the single-season WNBA offensive rebounding record of 172 that she previously set in 2024.

Atlanta had plenty of help around Reese as the game turned into a rout. Rhyne Howard scored 26 points and made five 3-pointers, while Naz Hillmon added 14 and Allisha Gray finished with 13. The Dream led by as many as 42 points and reached 100 with more than eight minutes left in the fourth quarter.

For Los Angeles, Cameron Brink led the Sparks with 14 points off the bench, while Rae Burrell scored 12 and Nneka Ogwumike added 11. The loss dropped Los Angeles to 12-24 and eliminated the Sparks from playoff contention, while Atlanta improved to 23-13 and extended its winning streak in the series to eight games.
