Jay Millian Gets Creative on New Visual for 'Karma'

Jay Millian is stepping into his creative bag with an accompanying visual for “Karma.” Directed by Blu, the theatrics of the music video fit the track well, with Jay waiting tables at a local coffee shop trying to deal with the struggles of trust issues in a relationship, while singing about what ‘karma’ means to him, and getting the number of a new chick at the restaurant.

This new visual comes on the heels of Jay Millian recently releasing “Karma” as a single. In a recent interview, Jay Millian discussed what the song itself is about.

“‘Karma’ is exactly what it sounds like,” he said. “But more specifically it’s about a love story burdened by trust issues, relationship issues, and the result of everything that comes with that.”

The video/song has a strong Los Angeles bounce, which makes sense since many of Jay’s artist influences are also from the West Coast.

Jay Millian names “BattleCat, Snoop Dogg, DJ Quik, HitBoy, and Blxst,” as just a few of his musical influences. It’s no wonder that he’s focused on creating a sound of his own, and looks up to some of the talent who’s known to do that best.

He describes his sound as a “mix of G-Funk and Neo Soul,” and calls it “Gangsta Soul, or G-Soul for short.”

“Karma” serves as a perfect introduction to who Jay Millian is as an artist, and shows audiences that he’s a versatile singer/rapper with much more to offer. The video complements the song well, bringing the words to life and demonstrating Jay’s flexibility as an artist.

He’s presently practicing to open for Blxst on his forthcoming “No Love Lost” tour, in addition to carving out his own musical path.

Meanwhile, have a look at the video for Jay Millian’s “Karma” below.
