A new preview places Harlow alongside an R&B veteran after the Louisville artist made singing central to his fourth album.
Jack Harlow has previewed new music alongside Babyface, adding another point of interest to the R&B direction he explored on Monica. The appearance brings him into the frame with one of the genre’s best-known singer-songwriters and producers.
AllHipHop reported the preview on November 1, placing it in the context of Harlow’s move away from rap-centered writing. The report does not establish a song title or release date, so the preview should not be mistaken for an announced single or a new album rollout.
Monica arrived March 13 as Harlow’s fourth studio album. Recorded at Electric Lady Studios after his move to New York, it focused on love and relationships through a singing-led approach rather than the format that first established him.
Harlow discussed that change on Popcast, explaining that he wanted to write without relying on rap’s familiar boasting. His self-imposed rules included no rapping, no cursing and live instruments apart from the drums, constraints intended to change how he approached the songs.
The album brought together musicians including Ravyn Lenae, Jermaine Paul, Omar Apollo and Robert Glasper. Lenae contributed to “Prague”, among other tracks, while Glasper played piano on the closer, “Say Hello.”
Against that background, the Babyface appearance is a continuation of an already visible creative shift, not proof of a separate finished project. What comes next remains open, but the preview keeps Harlow’s recent work in conversation with the R&B musicianship that helped shape Monica.
